The SARS-CoV-2 (NS6) Peptide Pool is a lyophilized mixture of 13 peptides from non-structural protein 6 (NS6) of SARS-CoV-2. SARS-CoV NS6 has been shown to localize in the endoplasmic reticulum/Golgi membrane of the host cell and disrupt nuclear import complex formation. This leads to the loss of STAT1 transport into the nucleus and inactivation of STAT1-activated genes that are required for antiviral effects. The sequence similarity of NS6 from the two coronaviruses suggests NS6 plays a similar role in SARS-CoV-2. The pool consists of 15-mer peptides with 11-amino-acid overlaps that cover amino acids 1 - 61 on NS6.
